EMN - Ecole des
Mines de Nantes
INTRODUCTION :
Created in 1990 by the French Ministry of Industry,
the Ecole des Mines de Nantes School of Engineering was designed
as a tool for the development of industry through high-level teaching
and research.
Competent in industrial systems engineering, the Ecole des Mines engineer
masters the skills necessary for the design, the development, and the
maintenance of production systems.
To develop all these skills, the
Ecole des Mines focuses its teaching on three major generic fields:
computer science and communication systems, automatic control and industrial
engineering as well as human and social sciences, which are an integral
part of the options taught in the final year of study.
The teaching programs are designed to provide industry with high level
engineers able to face the challenge of an increasingly competitive
international industrial context. Graduation at the level of a US Masters
degree, 5 years after the Baccalauréat
(high school graduation). Entry is highly selective.

PM3E -
Master of Science in Project Management for Environmental and Energy
Engineering
18 months (incl. 6 months internship), January intake.
This program aims to form project leaders
capable of managing complex engineering projects in the domain of the
environment and energy conversion systems within an international context.
PM3E offers a balanced program of management skills and engineering techniques
for environmental and energy projects. The technical part of the course
concentrates on technology and process engineering as well as process
modelling, simulation and control. A significant part of the program
is also devoted to social sciences for project managers.
The course is divided into 3 semesters: 2 semesters of lectures, seminars and
tutorials, and one semester devoted to an internship period in industry. The
course is taught in English.

ME3 – European
joint Masters Erasmus Mundus in Management and Engineering of Environment
and Energy
24
months (incl. 6 months internship/project), September intake.
The
European joint Masters of Science in Management and Engineering of
Environment and Energy (ME3) is an inter-disciplinary programme which
brings together: firstly Management and Engineering; secondly Energy
and Environment, and thirdly European and third-countries collaborations.
All these aspects constitute the "raison d'être" of
the proposed Consortium and makes the ME3 Masters course a unique
quality offer in European higher education. Thanks to experience
and savoir-faire sharing in the complementary fields of Environment
and Energy, in addition to a global approach in Management and Engineering,
the ME3 programme contributes to the increase of European competitiveness.
The
objective of the formation is to prepare students to work in industrial
or research sectors, in internationally-oriented working environments,
where a solid background in state-of-the art and process technology
is required, together with the ability to deal with multi-cultural
management and working practices. Depending on their Masters Thesis,
the ME3 students may be also exposed to a research project work,
therefore getting an adequate experience to embark on a PhD program,
if they choose so..
The
course is divided into 4 semesters: 3 semesters are mainly devoted
to academic learning, acquisition and consolidation of knowledge
and skills in Spain, France.
During the last 6 months, students perform a professional project
in order to get a Master thesis. Language of instruction is English.

MLPS - Master
of Science in the Management of Logistic and Production Systems
18
months (incl. 6 months internship), January intake.
The objective of this program in production systems
and logistics is the acquisition of knowledge necessary for engineers working
in the field of industrial systems operations management, production and
logistics. They will master the tools used in: the design of a production
system ; production management and control ; supply and stock management;
solving logistics problems ; statistical process control and experimental
design.
The program MLPS provides engineers not only with the theory for understanding
complex problems but also with the practical tools to solve these problems.
The course is divided into 3 semesters: 2 semesters of lectures, seminars and
tutorials, and one semester devoted to an internship period in industry. The
course is taught in English.

Master of Science in object-oriented and software engineering
12
months (incl. 6 months
research thesis), October intake.
This high level program entirely taught in English
brings together students from throughout the world to acquire a thorough
knowledge of object-oriented modelling methods, programming languages and
integrated development environments. EMOOSE graduates are proficient in
emerging software development areas such as distributed computing, objects
in the internet and software engineering issues such as metrics and quality
evaluation.
The course comprises a 6-month academic program followed by a 6-month
research thesis.
